Body Building Tips – What Should I Do If I Want to Gain Muscle?
Anyone who is into bodybuilding knows it’s all about increasing your muscle mass. But many people get frustrated when they don’t see the big muscles they imagined right away. Instead of giving up, try what successful bodybuilders do.
Here are a few pointers that will help you increase your muscle mass quickly. These tips are easy to put into practice and can really make a difference!
1. Use Visualization. Visualization-the ability to imagine yourself looking the way you want to look-is a powerful tool. If you want to get ripped, imagine yourself already ripped and what your life will be like. No doubt the ladies will all be giving you second looks. When you imagine yourself looking the way you want to become, your subconscious brain helps you do the things necessary to make that picture a reality.
Keeping a positive image of yourself succeeding at your goals firmly imbedded in your mind boosts your confidence and increases your motivation. But it also helps you to subtly change your actual behaviors in ways that will help you achieve your goal. If you practice using visualization techniques for even 10 minutes a day, you’ll start to see progress.
Did you know many well-known pro athletes incorporate visualization into their training routine? This includes people like Usain Bolt, David Beckham, and Tiger Woods, among others. Give it a try!
2. Mix Things Up. Incorporate variety into your workout routine as much as possible. For instance, compound sets can really help build your muscles, so why not do one set of exercises focusing on a particular group of muscles and then follow it with another set of different exercises that also focuses on that muscle group. This is how compound sets work and keep your training interesting.
You could start out with dumbbell flies and then do a set on the bench press. You’ll get a great burn with this routine. You can also optimize muscle growth using techniques like giant sets, super sets, drop sets, partials, and other routines.
3. Eat Properly For Building Muscle. Your body needs calories to burn to build muscle when working out, so try to eat a large snack about 90 minutes prior to your workout and a smaller snack like a piece of fruit about a half an hour before starting your routine.
It’s also good to consume a healthy meal rich in protein and carbs right after your workout. In addition, be sure to eat before going to sleep at night and first thing in the morning because your muscles do some of their toughest work growing during your sleeping hours, and they need calories to recover.
4. Workout for 30-45 Minute Intervals. If you work out for longer than 45 minutes, your body will trigger the release of hormones that could impede muscle building and growth. So you always want your workouts to be kept under 45 minutes total.
Ideally, a 30-minute workout is the best goal. This will leave your hormone levels right where you want them to be to enhance muscle building, build mass, and keep you energized.
5. Stay Focused. Don’t get distracted or caught up in thinking so you get discouraged. Rather, keep the end in mind and stay focused on the result you want to achieve. Concentrate during your workouts by having goals for each individual workout, wearing a headset, and/or maintaining a log of your training. Work hard for a short duration at a high intensity. Then go on with the rest of your day.
These five tips will keep you going strong and building muscle. Follow them yourself and see how effectively they work as your muscles grow and take on new definition.
